The Global Business Alliance for the Environment (GBA4E) is excited to participate in the third session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-3) which is taking place at UNEP headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, from 4th to 6th December, under the overarching theme of “Towards a Pollution Free Planet”.
UNEA provides a platform for dialogue on environmental sustainability and several activities will take place before and during the Assembly. View the full agenda here.
The recent launch of the GBA4E marks the renewed commitment of the business community to engage with UN Environment and its member states; and helps coordinate more business engagement.
On 27th – 28th November 2017, the GBA4E is participating in the Global Major groups and Stakeholders Forum as a business stakeholder in the dialogue on environmental sustainability.
On 3rd December 2017, from 3-6pm, the GBA4E will host a Business Symposium. The first of its kind, the symposium will focus on the business sector’s role in fighting pollution and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The private sector in all its forms can make a major contribution to UN Environment’s mission. The theme of the business symposium is ‘Business #beatpollution’ and will showcase successful innovations and initiatives through a series of dynamic case study presentations, followed by interactive time with member states, UN agencies and other stakeholders.
The symposium offers a unique and new opportunity for the private sector to engage a broad cross-section of business representatives in dialogue with UN staff, governments and civil society on the key themes of the United Nations Environment Assembly.
Join the conversation using the #beatpollution and receive further updates by following @GBA4E.
