World Milk Day 2025 Report: Toasting to Dairy’s Power and Promise

This year’s World Milk Day celebration, held under the theme “Let’s Celebrate the Power of Dairy,” brought together participants from more than 100 countries, from Australia to Zimbabwe, spotlighting dairy’s positive contributions to people, economies, and the planet.

World Milk Day 2025 delivered record-breaking results, reaching 1.25 billion people and generating over 2.75 million engagements, more than doubling last year’s reach. This remarkable impact was achieved through a dynamic mix of live events, community gatherings, digital storytelling, social media activations, strategic partnerships, and thought leadership, supported by enhanced tracking to capture activities in an even wider array of global languages.

The campaign shone a spotlight on dairy’s role in:

  • Combating malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies
  • Supporting healthy, sustainable diets for all ages
  • Providing nutrient-rich, affordable food
  • Building resilience among farmers

From school nutrition drives and recipe tutorials to influencer-led campaigns and media coverage, milk in all its forms was celebrated as nutrient-dense, climate-smart, and economically empowering. The unity of message across continents reflected the passion and commitment of the global dairy community.

With its unprecedented reach, strong partnerships, and authentic storytelling, World Milk Day 2025 set a new standard for global agricultural campaigns, demonstrating the enduring power of dairy to nourish the world and shape a sustainable future.

World Milk Day, established in 2001 by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), has grown into a truly global tradition, celebrating the vital role of dairy in healthy diets, sustainable livelihoods, and resilient communities. The campaign is managed by the Global Dairy Platform, with Emerging ag Inc. working closely to coordinate activities and drive global engagement.
