AWARD Knowledge Festival and Graduation Ceremony: The Celebration of African Scientists & Researchers
by Steve Ngunyi & Katrina Nyawira The AWARD Knowledge Festival and Graduation Ceremony, held on…
On June 1st the world recognizes the importance of dairy. Officially recognized in 2001 by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Milk Day raises public awareness of the value of milk for enjoyment, nutrition, livelihoods, and sustainability. Dairy offers essential nutrients for growth, and supports the livelihoods over 1 billion people around the world.
The World Milk Day campaign in 2022 is evidence that dairy plays a key role in people’s lives. The sector was highlighted in over 340,000 posts which received over 1 billion impressions.
In 2023, World Milk Day will focus on showcasing how dairy is reducing its environmental footprint, while also providing nutritious foods and livelihoods. Together, we will drive an active narrative that integrates the environmental, nutritional, and societal impacts of the sector.
Emerging ag inc, as coordinator of this social media campaign on behalf of the Global Dairy Platform, looks forward to seeing the #WorldMilkDay campaign dominate social media platforms again this year on June 1.
Want to help? We continue to encourage all dairy enthusiasts to kindly share a simple video about dairy, highlighting innovation, technology, and sustainability. These videos can be shared on social media with the hashtags #WorldMilkDay and #EnjoyDairy. Check out this year’s videos from dairy farmers on the Global Dairy Platform’s YouTube page.
