Since 2017, Emerging Ag assists the Global Dairy Platform (GDP) in coordinating global celebrations for World Milk Day on June 1.
World Milk Day, June 1 2022
The global dairy sector came together to celebrate World Milk Day 2022 by conducting social media campaigns and in-person events throughout 113 countries around the world. For the second consecutive year, social media impressions topped 1 billion. The celebrations began with the Enjoy Dairy Rally from May 29-31, culminating in World Milk Day on June 1. The Enjoy Dairy Rally, focusing on the themes of Nutrition, Community and Enjoyment, was held for the second consecutive year and helped create a four-day promotional campaign for the sector.
This year’s theme highlighted the work already being done to accelerate climate action and help reduce the dairy sector’s impact on the planet. Using the World Milk Day platform, the dairy sector raised awareness of Pathways to Dairy Net Zero by sharing a wide variety of farmer videos demonstrating how dairy is embracing technology to help create a sustainable future.
