
Anthony Muriithi
Anthony Muriithi has more than 30 years of professional experience in food systems in Kenya and globally. He has served as the Agriculture Attache and Alternate Permanent Representative to the UNRBAs in Kenya Mission, Rome, Italy, where he horned his negotiation skills and gained invaluable experience of both multilateral and bilateral systems. Prior to this he served as the Director General of The Agriculture and Food Authority, Kenya. He has a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics majoring in Production Economics and Agriculture Policy.
Mr Anthony Muriithi also has strong knowledge in strategy and policy formulation and in monitoring and evaluation in the Agriculture Sector. He is a member of several organisations, including the International Association of Agricultural Economists, the African Association of Agricultural Economics and the Kenya Society of Agricultural Professionals , He has previously served as the Vice Chair of the German Tea Association, the International Cotton Researchers Association and Commitee member of the Tea Association of USA.
He has served as the Vice Chair of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) and was the Rappoteur of the CFS Policy recommendations on Strengthening Collection and Use of Food Security and Nutrition Data Process 2023 , he has also served as a Bureau Member of the Commitee of Agriculture(COAG) of the Food and Agriculture Organization(FAO) , Co Chair of Friends: One Health /Antimicrobial Resistance as well as a founder member of the data champions in Rome among others.
