Emerging Ag is a boutique international consulting firm providing communications and public affairs services to clients in the Agriculture, Food and Health sectors. We provide expert services to our clients, with a strong focus on global policy issues and engagement with international organizations.

The Accounting Coordinator is an entry-level accounting role for the day-to-day and periodic bookkeeping and accounting tasks of the company, working under the direction and supervision of the Chief Financial Officer. The ideal candidate will support our accounting operations with an interest in organizational operations and the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented team.

Hours of work:  Full Time

Specific Duties May Include: 

  • Accounts Payable entries (bills, bill payments, credit card expenses, etc)
  • Accounts Receivable (compiling expenses to bill to clients, other as required)
  • Bank, credit card, and GL account reconciliations
  • Allocation of team hours into project cost tracking tools
  • Generate reports as required
  • Support month-end and year-end processes
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Financial Officer
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate budget reconciliations
  • Various other related duties as assigned

Position Qualifications:

  • Formal education / 2 years training or experience in bookkeeping / accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Office 365, particularly Excel
  • Willingness to perform a high volume of data entry tasks
  • Experience with bookkeeping/accounting for multiple currencies is ideal but not required
  • Experience using QuickBooks Online or other accounting software is ideal but not required

  • A self-starter, able to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • A team player with excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and stay well-organized to meet deadlines and adjust quickly to changes in priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a remote and global team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
