The Global Business Alliance for the Environment (GBA4E)
The Global Business Alliance for the Environment (GBA4E) was formally created in 2017 to enhance business engagement with United Nations Environment (UNE) and the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA), to reflect the important role that business must play to achieve environmental sustainability.
Business has an ongoing commitment to work with local communities, international agencies, governments, civil society and the scientific community. A distinct, enhanced role for business with a unique voice is important to facilitate greater business engagement towards the fulfilment of UN Environment’s mission.
Emerging ag has been contracted to provide secretariat services to the Global Business Alliance for the Environment. Emerging organizes and coordinates GBA4E activities at the bi-annual United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) meetings at the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) in Nairobi, Kenya and supports the activities of GBA4E in the interim period. The Secretariat helps liaise with UNE’s teams, provide updates on policy discussions, supports the GBA4E member’s discussions and implementation of the members’ chosen activities, such as side events and meetings. Membership in GBA4E is voluntary and open to all national, regional and international business organisations, enterprises, cooperatives, and trade associations.
