The International Agri-Food Network is the Secretariat of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.agrifood.net\/about\/private-sector-mechanism\/\">Private Sector Mechanism <\/a>(PSM). It will be coordination a delegation of a hundred business and farmer representatives. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.agrifood.net\/cfs-registration\/\">Make sure you register<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/fileadmin\/templates\/cfs\/Docs1415\/cfs42\/CFS_2015_42_Inf_1_Provisional_Timetable_en.pdf\"> plenary program <\/a>will include:<\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li>CFS and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>State of Food Insecurity in the world 2015<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Food Security and Nutrition in the Post-2015 Development Agenda<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Water for Food Security and Nutrition<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Connecting Smallholders to Markets<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>National and Regional Multistakeholder Approaches to Improve Nutrition<\/li>\n<p>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nThere will be two special events:<\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li>Resilience Building for Sustainable Food Security and Nutrition<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/cfs\/cfs-home\/cfsevents\/youth\/en\/\">Building Knowledge<\/a>, Skills and Talent Development of Youth<\/li>\n<p>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/world-food-day\/home\/en\/\">World Food Day celebrations<\/a> will take place on October 16 at ExpoMilan and will focus on the theme of Social Protection and Agriculture: Breaking the Cycle of Rural Poverty.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Private Sector Mechanism (PSM) will host:<\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li>Side-Events<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Bilateral meetings with Member States and staff from the UN Rome-Based Agencies (FAO, IFAD, WFP)<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>High-Level Dinner for CEOs and Ambassadors (by invitation only)<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Private Sector Partnership Dialogue with FAO&#8217;s Director General on Inclusive Finance and Business Models in Agriculture<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Live tweeting <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AgriFoodNet\">@AgriFoodNet<\/a> Online discussions on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/grp\/home?gid=8340239&amp;sort=POPULAR&amp;trkInfo=clickedVertical%3Agroup%2CclickedEntityId%3A8340239%2Cidx%3A1-1-1%2CtarId%3A1438588194647%2Ctas%3Ainternational+agri-food+network&amp;trk=tyah\">LinkedIn Discussion Group<\/a><\/li>\n<p>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<strong>The Private Sector Mechanism (PSM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Private Sector Mechanism is an open platform providing a permanent seat for private enterprises right across the agri-food value chain, from farmers, to input providers, to cooperatives, processors, SMEs and food companies. The private sector and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gatesfoundation.org\/\">Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation<\/a>, along with civil society and the research community, have permanent seats on the CFS Advisory Group alongside member countries of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations.
