Instead, the week, which aims to raise awareness of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalgoals.org\/\">17 sustainable development goals<\/a> and their importance for all people everywhere, has been inserted into <a href=\"https:\/\/virtualexpodubai.com\/listen-watch\/theme-weeks\/global-goals-week\">Expo 2020 Dubai<\/a>. Expo 2020 is an event aimed at promoting sustainability and this can be seen through its infrastructure made up of reusable construction materials and energy sources, of which half of it is renewable.<\/p>\n<p>The Global Goals Week is a call to the world to reflect on the SDGs and their own contribution to achieving these goals. Many of these goals are inter-linked, and actions can often take a multi-dimensional form, thus responding to not just one but several goals. For example, in the dairy sector, production helps to respond to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalgoals.org\/2-zero-hunger\">SDG 2<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalgoals.org\/3-good-health-and-well-being\">SDG 3<\/a> as it offers a nutritious food that promotes healthy development and growth, especially in children. However, it has also been noted that the dairy industry provides 1 billion jobs, directly and indirectly, thus impacting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalgoals.org\/1-no-poverty\">SDG 1<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalgoals.org\/8-decent-work-and-economic-growth\">SDG 8<\/a>, and even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalgoals.org\/5-gender-equality\">SDG 5<\/a> since it helps empower women economically.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1171\" style=\"float: left; padding-right: 10px; padding-bottom: 10px; padding-top: 10px;\" src=\"https:\/\/emergingag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/b2ap3_large_Brian-Lindsay-at-Koronivia.jpeg\" width=\"267\" height=\"200\" align=\"left\" data-style=\"clear\" srcset=\"https:\/\/emergingag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/b2ap3_large_Brian-Lindsay-at-Koronivia.jpeg 1280w, https:\/\/emergingag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/b2ap3_large_Brian-Lindsay-at-Koronivia-300x224.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/emergingag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/b2ap3_large_Brian-Lindsay-at-Koronivia-1024x766.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/emergingag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/b2ap3_large_Brian-Lindsay-at-Koronivia-768x574.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 267px) 100vw, 267px\" \/>For several years, the dairy industry has been intentionally contributing to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalgoals.org\/13-climate-action\">SDG 13<\/a> through innovative technology. Recently, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaldairyplatform.com\/\">Global Dairy Platform (GDP)<\/a> announced its plans to take this commitment a step further through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaldairyplatform.com\/pathwaystodairynetzero\/\">Pathways to Dairy Net Zero<\/a> initiative. This initiative brings together members of the global dairy sector, representatives of the scientific and research communities and other stakeholders to develop methodologies, tools, and pathways that would help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the sector. Researchers have begun investigations to find areas where positive climate change action is possible across the global dairy value chain. GDP is confident that positive change could be achieved across all dairy systems worldwide. Collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and adoption of best practices are some of the key elements needed to reduce dairy\u2019s emissions.
